ARLINGTON, VA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) today released the following statement on the passage of broadband permitting legislation by the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.
The statement can be attributed to Patrick Halley, President and CEO, WIA:
“The U.S. needs a national wireless permitting framework that is predictable, proportionate, and transparent to expand broadband access for communities, keep America competitive, and increase choice to bring down broadband costs for American consumers. The legislation passed by the Subcommittee today would codify prior bipartisan actions and strengthen the rules of the road to create the certainty industry needs today to build the networks of tomorrow. We appreciate Chairman Hudson and the Subcommittee Members taking action and urge Chairman Guthrie and the House to pass these critical bills to enable connectivity everywhere.”
